Fear of a Krabby Patty/Shell of a Man

    episode S4.E1 may 2005
Fear of a Krabby Patty: The Krusty Krab is now open 24-hours-a-day, which means that the Krusty Krab employees have to work round-the-clock and without a break. At first the prospect of never leaving work is like a dream come true for SpongeBob. But soon the relentless schedule takes its toll, and SpongeBob develops an inexplicable fear of Krabby Patties preventing him from doing his job. Plankton seizes the opportunity and disguises himself as SpongeBob's psychiatrist in an attempt to extract the patty's secret formula from the stressed-out sponge. Shell of a Man: Mr. Krabs is getting ready for a big reunion with his old seafaring buddies when he suddenly molts his shell. It seems the years of owning a fast food restaurant have taken their toll on Mr. Krabs' waist line. And now that his armor-like shell no longer fits, Mr. Krabs is left quivering, shell-less, and pink. Afraid that his tough-as-nails friends will only ridicule him, but reluctant to not make an appearance at the get-together, Mr. Krabs disguises SpongeBob in his old shell and forces him to go to the reunion in his place.

In order to revive their boss (and avoid possible jail time) SpongeBob, Squidward and Patrick must retrieve the mattress from the city dump, but first they have to get past the ferocious guard-worm that's sleeping on top of it. Selling Out: Mr. Krabs sells his restaurant to a conglomerate that plans to turn the Krusty Krab into a big corporate chain. At first the sell out brings the kind of peace and quiet Mr. Krabs always wanted. But his early retirement quickly turns into nothing more than one boring day after another, and Mr. Krabs finds himself living a life without purpose. So he takes a job as a busboy at the Krusty Krab only to find that it has been transformed into a heartless mockery of his former restaurant. With the help of SpongeBob and Squidward, Mr. Krabs stages a fast food coup against the new management. Funny Pants: Squidward has had enough of SpongeBob's incessant laughter, so he tricks his neighbor into believing that SpongeBob has a laugh-related illness. According to the made-up disease, if SpongeBob laughs one more time in the next 24 hours, his laugh box will explode and he will never laugh or giggle again. For the rest of the day, SpongeBob fights every single urge to chuckle. The next morning, SpongeBob discovers that he completely lost the ability to laugh. Now utterly grief stricken, all SpongeBob can do is cry his eyes out. Squidward finally confesses to the forlorn sponge (the weeping was more annoying than SpongeBob's giggles), and in the process restores SpongeBob's laugh.

    Dunces and Dragons

    episode S4.E6 february 2006
Dunces and Dragons: After a freak jousting accident at a Medieval Times-style restaurant, SpongeBob and Patrick are transported to a medieval version of Bikini Bottom. There they are mistaken for great knights and sent on a quest by King Krabs to rescue his daughter, the Princess Pearl, from the clutches of the evil wizard Planktonamor. To keep them company, the King sends along Squidward, the court jester (who was recently thrown in the dungeon for not being funny). The first obstacle they encounter is the dreaded Black Knight, an ornery squirrel who fights under the spell of Planktonamor. But Sir SpongeBob bests the Black Knight in a brilliant display of Ka-ra-te, and even breaks Planktonamor's hold on her. The Black Knight pledges herself to the heroes' cause, and the group of four marches on to Lord Plankton's lair where they encounter the giant fire-breathing jelly fish. Fortunately Sir SpongeBob has just the thing that will tame the dangerous beast, a krabby patty that he was saving in his pocket for lunch. The knights finally get through Plankton's defenses, save Princess Pearl, and restore peace to the kingdom.
  • Enemy-In-Law: Mr. Krabs' Mom is dating again, and it seems like things could be serious. Mr. Krabs tries to be happy for his mother, but he is absolutely horrified when he learns that the secret paramour is his arch-rival Plankton! Convinced that this just another trick aimed at getting the family formula for Krabby Patties, Mr. Krabs tries to reveal Plankton's schemes and breakup the ill-favored fling. Mermaidman and Barnacleboy VI: The Motion Picture: The adventures of Mermaidman and Barnacleboy are being told in a thrilling new motion picture. But as SpongeBob and Patrick soon learn, their heroes are not in the movie. The real Mermaidman and Barnacleboy were considered too old, so their filmic counterparts will be a couple of young actors that are nothing like the true heroes. SpongeBob is outraged, and he sets out to make his own version of the Mermaidman and Barnacleboy movie using the real guys fresh from their retirement home.

The Gift of Gum: It's Best Friends Day and SpongeBob and Patrick trade Best Friend presents. SpongeBob presents Patrick with a fancy robot, and Patrick gives his favorite Sponge his most prized possession, an enormous ball of used chewing gum. SpongeBob is touched. This gift is the coolest thing in the world. However, once he finally fits the giant wad of gum into his house, it slowly starts to creep him out. Maybe it's the moldy pizza or the smelly sock attached to it, or the fact that the gum is starting to talk to him. Whatever it is, SpongeBob decides that home may not be the best place for this present. But he can't let Patrick know that his gift has to go, that would hurt the pink star's feelings. So SpongeBob attempts to steal the gum from his own house and hide it. Of course it turns out to be a far stickier plan than he imagined.
