While replacing a furnace at Quantico, workers find a smoked body in the chimney; Gibbs and company investigate. Fornell shows interest, saying that the victim was a serial killer. Abby enables Gibbs and Fornell to confront the real killer.

While testing a robotic driverless SUV, a woman Navy lieutenant becomes trapped inside it, and she dies of carbon-monoxide poisoning; Gibbs and company investigate. McGee suggests murder, Abby has trouble, and the gang find the bad guy.

While Jen attends a conference in Paris, Gibbs serves as the acting director. When a taxicab delivers a fare to the NCIS headquarters, the passenger, a Yemeni, is DoA; the gang investigate. Jen diverts to Moscow, and many answers emerge.

Jen returns from Paris; at home she finds a curious sight. All NCIS agents in Washington must take polygraph tests; Gibbs and the gang look into that. Tony and Jeanne deal with an injured pedestrian; Jeanne introduces Tony to her father.

Tony meets Jeanne's father; Tony excuses himself to move his Mustang, which explodes while the gang watch; Ducky says that the victim is not Tony. The Frog meets Jen, but she lets him leave; Gibbs and others pursue him but arrive too late.

The NCIS gang investigate the death of a sailor in a hit-and-run wreck, which turns into a shoot-and-scoot; Ducky finds nearby the body of a young woman who gave birth and died before the wreck. The team figure out the lies and the case.

A Captain is killed at home with a spear. His wife is having an affair with his Major, whose prints are found at the scene. Jethro's ex-wife, Stephanie, is seeing the Major too. Lt. Col. Mann, Jethro's girlfriend, leads the investigation.

While demonstrating an autopsy, Ducky announces murder; Gibbs and company investigate. The victim worked for the FBI, which tried to catch a person who erased old identities and created new ones. The NCIS and the FBI catch the bad guys.

A Navy lieutenant threatens to jump from an 11th-floor ledge in Washington; the Metro PD calls the NCIS; Gibbs and company respond and investigate; Gibbs talks the man out of jumping, then someone shoots him. With help the gang find a mole.

While McGee gives his den of Youth Rangers a tour of the NCIS headquarters, one of his boys pops up in a missing-persons database; Gibbs and company investigate. The team find lies, deception, a fugitive, a new murder, and the real killer.

A to-be-decorated Marine, Corporal Damon Werth, becomes violent during his PTSD treatment. He has fistfights with NCIS agents. It is found that he is on steroids, and a Navy contractor is suspected of experiments on him.

A Marine lance corporal, of Arabic lineage and the Islamic faith, dies two blocks from a mosque in Washington, DC; Gibbs and company investigate. Ducky uses an alternate method; Abby finds a deadly neurotoxin. A tip helps; justice prevails.

Someone has stolen new top-secret radar gear; the NCIS gets a tip about its location. During a stakeout of the site, McGee watches while a man dies; the radar disappears again. The gang and the Metro PD figure it out and catch the bad guy.

While seeking to serve a warrant, the Gibbs gang find cocaine, cash, and the dead body of the subject person; a dog bites McGee, who shoots the dog. Abby goes to bat for the dog, who helps to solve the case. The team nab the bad person.

Fornell and his Hoovers arrive in the squad bay; he tells that the Gibbs team is under investigation for the murder of the Frog. However, the Gibbs gang investigates the FBI, and they put the pieces together and explain them to the suits.

A Marine captain dies in a mortar explosion in Baghdad; the SecNav sends the body to Ducky, who finds that a bullet, not shrapnel, caused the death. Tony and Jardine investigate on site; they and the rest of the team together figure it out.

Ziva, undercover, goes on a date with a suspected serial killer (a Marine); Tony finds the fifth victim; the suspect threatens Ziva, who resists and shoots him with his piece. Gibbs and the team investigate, solve, and find a second killer.

A man dies at a retrofitting site at a Navy facility; Gibbs and company investigate. Palmer sees a fleeing person, who takes a shot at him; a second body turns up.

In Los Angeles, Jenny, with Tony and Ziva as a protective detail, attends the funeral for a retired long-time special agent, who supposedly died of a heart attack; Jenny hears a name, sees a man, makes pictures, and summons Mike Franks from Mexico; she tells him that she's the next person to die. Jen and Franks visit the home of the dead man; there they meet his girlfriend, whom they send to Nevada, but who winds up dead in Santa Monica. Jen and Franks check out an insurance policy at a diner in a desert, and she refuses help from Tony and Ziva; Franks steps outside in the back, then four men enter the diner, and gunshots ring out; Tony and Ziva find a mess inside. In the aftermath of Jenny's death, Assistant Director Vance searches for Franks, who escaped the diner after killing the fourth gunman. Meanwhile, Tony and Ziva try to locate the one responsible, while dealing with the fallout of failing in their assignment to protect the Director. The trail points to a former hitman called Natasha, who Jenny failed to assassinate in Paris nine years previously while on an assignment that she and Gibbs were working on together. Since Gibbs killed Natasha's lover, Natasha has returned to the U.S. seeking revenge. Natasha, who never saw it coming, is killed by Franks, after Gibbs set a trap for her at Jenny's house. Gibbs burns down the house to cover up Jenny's death, making the public believe she died of smoke inhalation. In the fallout of Jenny's funeral, newly appointed Director Vance shreds a page from his personnel file in the Director's office and terminates Ziva's liaison status (sending her back to Israel), reassigns McGee to the cyber crime division, and sends Tony to the USS Ronald Reagan. Vance then gives Gibbs personnel files for his new team members.

In Washington DC, a petty officer's body is found four and a half months after he had died; another officer dies in Morocco and Ziva sustains an injury. Gibbs and company find a link and reach a solution. Ziva gladly returns to the NCIS.

A lieutenant appears to jump from an aircraft carrier at sea; Tony investigates aboard the ship and in Cartagena, Colombia, where the missing man supposedly joined the ship. Gibbs and Ziva join Tony; they find the answers and the bad guy.

Two cyclists find the body of a woman lieutenant commander assigned to the Navy Office of Legislative Affairs; Gibbs and company investigate. A senator, an old buddy of Gibbs, calls him. Another body turns up. The gang solve and arrest.

An ambush in an alley behind a bar leaves one Marine dead and one very ill; the gang investigate. The survivor is from Gibbs's hometown, and the team goes there; flashbacks abound. The bunch put the pieces together and nail the bad guys.

Someone shoots and kills the executive officer (XO) of a Naval vessel, a commander, in his own stateroom; Gibbs and company investigate. However, a shrink (a persistent and presumptuous one) arrives to conduct mandatory psychologic evaluations for all members of the gang, and she accompanies them aboard the ship. Ziva recognizes the spent brass as Russian. Word of the murder spreads fast, for seven international journalists are aboard as guests; one reporter makes a confession and reveals a potential powder keg. The team continue, and they eventually find the solution. Meanwhile, the shrink also continues, eliciting a number of flashbacks, mostly related to Kate Todd, a former member and special agent. Eventually Tony and Gibbs realize who the shrink is, then she submits her report to the director.

A US Marine dies in an explosion at a US embassy; he saves a foreign official and others; the NCIS provides security to the official's daughter in Washington, DC; kidnappers abduct her, and another man dies. The Gibbs gang figure it out.

A Metro cop in Washington, DC, finds a set of severed fingertips which prove to be those of a Marine corporal; Gibbs and company investigate; McGee finds the corresponding body in the local morgue; Ducky concludes that the corporal was a victim of stretching to death on a rack. McGee and Ziva meet Max, who used a credit card of the dead Marine; excitement occurs while McGee interviews her; Tony and Ziva meet and interview another interesting chick; McGee pursues with Max. Gibbs asks whether the corporal died because Max, a former girlfriend, made a record score on a video game. Ziva gets a lead on a major game programmer, but he has disappeared; Gibbs meets an arms dealer. Gibbs and McGee get a confession, then the gang search for a particular computer; McGee guides Gibbs, who finds it and announces "game over". Tony makes a date for McGoo.

A "meter maid" sees a body inside a home in Washington, DC; the victim, a retired Marine colonel, received seven blows of an ax; Gibbs and company question a prime suspect, who denies involvement and helps Gibbs to arrest the real killer.

In a national forest near Washington, DC, a young couple find the body of a Navy lieutenant commander in his dress-blue uniform; Gibbs and company investigate; on a rock nearby Tony finds a single word written in the victim's blood. The Metro PD finds the victim's abandoned car in Washington. Ducky finds that the shooter used ammunition of an unusual type, Gibbs and McGee talk with a specialty publisher, and Tony and Ziva find the body of an FBI agent, so Fornell enters the picture. The publisher leaves the country, then Gibbs and Fornell speak with the author of a mysterious book, who tells them about the contents. Tony, McGee, and Ziva arrive at a self-store room in time to see two stars and a couple of helpers get blown up; the admiral recovers well enough to go home, and he gives Gibbs and Fornell a lead; they pursue it, but Abby says to hold the phone, then she directs them to the real killer, and they nail him.

Gibbs and company investigate the murder of a member of the US Navy; EJ has investigated three previous similar deaths, so Vance gives her the lead. A suspect turns out to be another victim. Ziva's boyfriend is something else. [Continued.]

EJ and her team take over the P2P case; Gibbs and company investigate the death of a Navy woman officer. The solution, first believed to be simple, proves to be complicated. The killer jumps Ziva, and the gang pounce on him. [Continued.]

Gibbs and company investigate a body wearing a dress-blue uniform of a three-star admiral; Tony recognizes the victim; they first suspect another P2P killing; however, Ducky suggests otherwise. The gang find both the killer and the motive.

EJ and her team investigate yet another P2P murder; the victim is an NCIS agent from Norfolk; Gibbs and company pitch in, as does Franks. Kort, a CIA agent, spills in a briefing. Both Franks and EJ encounter the prime suspect.

Gibbs and Tony follow EJ and her team to a nearly vacant building; they find that the P2P murderer has killed Levin, seriously injured Cade, and kidnapped EJ; Gibbs pursues the suspect and EJ; he finds her, left to suffocate. McGeek traces a phone number to CI-Ray (Ziva's boyfriend). Ducky, with help from Gibbs, explains the changes in the MO of the killer. From Levin's left forearm EJ secretly removes a small object. Ziva tries to intercept Ray, but Cobb, the suspect, intercepts and kidnaps her; later, while Gibbs, Tony, McGee, and EJ are present inside a hotel room, Cobb arrives, enters, and surrenders, but he refuses to tell where he put Ziva. However, Abby provides clues to a place, where the gang plus Ray find and rescue Ziva, who gives explanations. Back at the HQ, Cobb escapes with two hostages; Gibbs and others follow; a confrontation ends the career of the P2P killer. The SecNav resigns, and his successor gives Tony a highly sensitive and classified task.

Tony, during his task for the SecNav, took fire and sustained a concussion, and he acquired the bloody badge of some other NCIS agent; however, he has no memory of his activities. Gibbs and a shrink help Tony to begin to regain his memory.

A Marine private first-class returns from Afghanistan to his hometown in time for a welcoming party for him during homecoming week; however, when he arrives, he staggers in, mortally wounded, then collapses and dies; Gibbs and company investigate; Ducky says that death resulted from stab wounds. Ziva spots a piece of evidence, but it becomes hard to obtain it; Tony and Ziva find that the victim had started with a disadvantaged childhood, became adopted into a military family, then enlisted in the Marine Corps and established an impeccable record. Abby finds some interesting electronic evidence, then Tony and McGee find something while hiking, and McGee makes some new friends. Abby makes important discoveries; the gang learn about multiple identities, a forged letter, stolen funds, and a hidden relationship, and they rescue from death a man who then dies. Eventually they put the pieces together, and they get help for someone who needs help.

A Naval Reserve lieutenant dies of a gunshot in Washington, DC; Gibbs and company investigate; the victim has one of McGee's cards; McGee learns that his paternal grandmother is involved. The gang assemble the pieces and catch the bad guy.

In Washington, DC, near the Capitol a van accidentally hits and critically injures a pedestrian, who proves to be The Cooler, a wanted contract assassin, whose next target appears to be a Navy lieutenant commander; Gibbs and company investigate the target, LCdr. Geoffrey Brett, and his circumstances, including the threat. The Cooler briefly regains consciousness in a hospital, then dies before an NCIS agent reaches him. Ziva acts as Brett's protective escort, but he ditches her. Tony and McGee meet a CPA, then she dies. The three musketeers gather pieces of evidence and, with Gibbs, put them together; Brett says that he needs a lawyer. Meanwhile Abby volunteers to become an organ donor, learns more about herself, visits a pet-rescue center, meets someone whom she admires, examines her own feelings, and has a serious chat with Gibbs.

A boarding party from a Coast Guard cutter visits a foreign-flag cargo ship; no crewmember is visible, but a gunman kills a petty officer. The NCIS and the CGCIS investigate. Gibbs, Borin, and the gang sort it out and serve justice.

At 04:19 in northern Virginia an 18-wheel truck accidentally and fatally hits a Naval Reserve lieutenant who had swerved and woven on a freeway, parked on the left side, and walked toward an emergency call box on the right side; Gibbs and company investigate. Ducky sees telling evidence at the site, finds an explanation in his workshop, and offers a theory. The gang check out the obvious leads; Ducky meets and courts an attractive and interesting new ladyfriend. While hiking through a state park, the team find a dead SUV and a dead body under circumstances similar to those of the other victim; this vic is a civilian, but his estranged wife is a Marine on active duty in Afghanistan. When Duckman again sees his new honey, he gets two real surprises. Meanwhile, Gibbs and the gang figure out what's happened, so they head out to help; they wrap up some loose ends; Gibbs offers Duck a ride home.

Diane, the mutual ex-wife of Gibbs and Fornell, gets help from them; Victor, her current husband, has disappeared; they and the gang find the pieces, put them together, find the bad guys, and deal with them. Diane gives Gibbs a watch.

An aircraft crashes short of Dover AFB, Delaware, while carrying the remains of six Marines from Afghanistan; Abby does not find the DNA of one of the six; Gibbs and others consider the possibility that the one is still alive. [Continued.]

Gibbs and Ziva fly to Afghanistan to seek 1Lt. Flores or her body; Abby learns where she might be; an extraction team finds and saves her. Back in the USA Gibbs and the gang anticipate what's next, find a bad guy, and prevent an explosion.

A civilian and a Navy captain die of gunfire in Washington, DC; Gibbs and company investigate; the Duck sees unusual undergarments, which are also costumes. The gang solve the puzzle and nab the bad guys; Wendy reveals something to Tony.

When two burglars enter a home in Arlington, Virginia, in the burbs of Washington, DC, they find the hanged body of a man; the victim proves to be that of a psychologist (with a PhD degree), who was also a Naval Reservist on active duty, and who held a high-level security clearance for his work, which included consulting with the US Department of Defense (DoD) on a psy-ops program; while Gibbs and company investigate, they soon encounter Dr. Rachel Cranston, who was a colleague of the victim, and with whom they've dealt before. Another mind-gamer shows up, and Abby finds a mind game. McGee plays with some electronic toys, and the other members of the gang pursuit other leads; Gibbs orders the team to concentrate on paper, and he kills a bug. Despite much interference and misinformation, the gang solve the puzzle and bust the people responsible. A payroll clerk discovers a number of mistakes, and Gibbs receives an interesting phone call at 04:00.

When Gibbs meets with a Navy chief petty officer and his attorney (to make a deal), the CPO collapses and dies; while the gang investigate, they find a connection to an illicit arms dealer. The team figure it out, and everything works out.

While Gibbs and Tony man a protective detail for the SecNav, a gunman shoots the secretary; the NCIS investigates quietly with the help of Dr. Ryan. Blackmail is involved; the gang and Ryan figure it out and find a hacker and the bad guy.

While on liberty in Baltimore, Maryland, a boatswain's mate second-class dies of a stab wound; Gibbs and company investigate; the prime suspect is a brother-in-law of Vance. The team persist, Abby solves the case, and they nab the bad guy.

A picnicking couple encounter a dead body, which proves to be that of a first lieutenant in the US Marine Corps; after Gibbs chats with Dr. Ryan, he and the team investigate; the gang see that the victim had plummeted from somewhere in the sky after he had first been beaten, stabbed, and shot; in one of his pockets they find a challenge coin, which they trace to a woman commander in the Navy Chaplain Corps, who is on duty with a relief team in Colombia. Ducky finds curious clues, and Abby interprets them (connecting to Colombia); Ziva communicates with Monique, a contact in Colombia, who repeats a rumor about the disappearance of the Marine and the chaplain; Ryan gives Gibbs a tip. Tony, Ziva, and a second woman chaplain join Monique in Colombia; someone else provides fireworks; then Gibbs interviews a mule. McGee continues to dig, then Ziva and Monique meet a couple and get answers. Tony, Ziva, and two chaplains fly back home with their new friends.

A fire in a warehouse in Baltimore brings in the NCIS; they find connections to Watcher Fleet. The gang work with a city arson investigator with a mysterious connection to Tony.

Gibbs and company continue to investigate an explosion and a fire; Tony, McGee, and Ziva work aboard aircraft carriers; Ducky and Abby provide much support. Tony and Ziva nab a bad guy, who tells who hired him and why. [Continued.]

Dorneget gets a surprise from a dentist; Gibbs and company continue to investigate Dearing and the thermite incidents. Dearing visits the Navy Yard and messes with Gibbs. Moves and countermoves abound; Vance disappears. [Continued.]

While the Gibbs team investigate a murder of a Navy petty officer first-class, Gibbs himself sees a Medal of Honor, which his father's former best friend received for valor during WW2. The gang figure out and work out both problems.

Two Marine officers return from Afghanistan after an ambush; one night one of them dies in a fistfight in an alley in Washington, DC; Gibbs and company investigate. The gang see a familiar face but do not yet find the person. [Continued.]

Gibbs tells Joe that Joe was right about Kersey's presence with the enemy in Afghanistan, and that he and the gang need his help to find the bad guy; Gibbs talks with Joe, his brother (Evan), and their father. Evan stays to help Joe, but their father goes back home in Ohio; Joe goes with Gibbs to see Paul, another member of the outfit, who responds negatively to Joe. Abby uses virtual-reality (VR) gear to help Joe recover some of his memories; the gang increase their efforts to find Kersey; Gibbs continues to work with Joe; they catch a clue; the gang find Kersey's car but not Kersey, then they find a girl with blue hair, then Kersey; then Joe suddenly recalls another face. Abby tells the site of the next incident, and McGee tells its significance; Gibbs and the team saddle up and head out; they find and seize first a package and then a ponytail. Joe reconciles with Paul; Tony gives Ziva an audio treat; Abby serves Thanksgiving dinner to the gang at Gibbs's pad.

A kidnapper shoots to death a Navy captain who intervenes; the bad guys get one teenage girl but not the other; both girls are Navy juniors; Gibbs and company investigate, pursue, solve, capture, and recover. Tony joins Ziva and her date.

A Navy seaman fires on Fornell, who returns fire and kills him; Gibbs and company investigate, along with Fornell and the mutual ex-wife of Gibbs and Fornell. The gang find frozen fish, a dead body, a missing accountant, and two bad guys.

A Navy Lieutenant Commander returns from an overseas tour to her home and finds the decomposing body of her husband. When Gibbs and his team investigate, they find a new kind of uncirculated $100 bills.

A human ear in the Potomac River leads to the rest of the body, wearing a uniform of a Navy petty officer; Gibbs and company investigate. Ziva's father shows up, as does his Iranian counterpart. Gunfire interrupts a dinner. [Continued.]

Gibbs and company continue to investigate the killings at Vance's home, seeking whoever hired the shooter; the gang identify the hit man and later figure out who's responsible. Ziva buries her father, and Vance and the team bury Jackie.

Two passersby find the bodies of a Marine and a young woman in a wrecked car; Gibbs and company investigate; Ducky raises questions. Flashbacks trouble Abby. The gang find anger, hostility, a feud, a history, a solution, and the bad guy.

Gibbs and company capture the world's number-2 cyberterrorist; as Ducky suggests, the gang use an unconventional technique to gain evidence from the stubborn bad guy; Tony and Ziva find the body of an Ebola victim; the team come out ahead.

A lance corporal collapses and dies on an obstacle course at the MCB, Quantico, Virginia; Gibbs and company investigate; Ducky sees many wounds. Another injured Marine dies. The team figure it out. Vance finds and solves personal business.

An injured Navy lieutenant commits suicide; Gibbs and company investigate; three people kidnap Ducky, Palmer, and the body, and the abductors demand an improvised autopsy. The gang find the missing body, teammates, answers, and bad actors.

Gibbs's barber confides in him about the former's son; Gibbs quietly asks around. Meanwhile the gang investigate the disappearance of $120K of Navy money; they suspect a Marine and his girlfriend. Gibbs and company work out both cases.

In Afghanistan a Marine sergeant, a dog handler, dies of a single round, said to have come from a Taliban sniper; his widow tells Gibbs about her doubt and the reason; Gibbs and company investigate and solve, then Gibbs arrests the shooter.

Aboard a destroyer of the US Navy during a storm at sea, the ship's medical officer dies, apparently by homicide; Gibbs and company investigate; McGee's father, an admiral, is aboard. The gang follow the tracks and catch the killer.

A Navy lieutenant returns home from TAD; her husband is missing, and the family room is a mess; Gibbs and company investigate; a suspect dies. The team assemble the pieces, and they bust two bad actors. Gibbs sends Ziva and Tony to Rome.

Orli, the new director of the Mossad, asks for NCIS assistance in hunting down a group of rogue operatives. Tony and Ziva travel to Berlin in their search for Ilan Bodnar.

Tony and Ziva, with only minor injuries, return to work; the others find the getaway car and the body of the wheelman, which provides a clue; Ilan contacts Ziva; Tony interprets the lead, then Ziva pursues it and draws the case to an end.

A Navy petty officer chases and attacks a man; he asks to speak with someone at NCIS; the gang solve. An official from the DoD starts snooping around, apparently on a witch hunt; he and a goon squad of grim feds confront Gibbs. [Continued.]

A familiar face defends Gibbs in Parson's investigation. While the team tries to help Gibbs, they must solve the murder of a Navy SEAL.

Parsons gripes about his project; then a bomb explodes, killing the SecNav; Gibbs volunteers for a spec op, which takes him to Iran, where he runs into Parsons, and where they investigate. Tony tries to pursue Ziva in Israel. [Continued.]

Tony searches for Ziva in Israel and elsewhere; he finally finds her, but he returns without her. Gibbs, Fornell, and others work hard on the case of the bomber. McGee makes a huge discovery, which allows Gibbs to solve and to take a shot.

A bomb explodes in a Navy Lieutenant's apartment, killing his unfortunate building manager. The team must find the missing Lieutenant and identify the bomber minus McGee, who has lost his credentials.

Gibbs and company investigate the death of a woman with an ID card of a sergeant in the US Marine Corps; McGee finds that the real sergeant died in Afghanistan three years ago. Gibbs and McGee go to Kabul, sort things out, and do some good.

A Navy petty officer dies of a gunshot in a park in Baltimore, Maryland; Gibbs and company investigate; at the scene Tony sees a clue and a man. Abby finds links, then the gang put the pieces together and nail the shooter. Tony nods off.

An explosion and a fire damage an offshore drilling platform near the Virginia Capes, killing one (a major in the US Marine Corps Reserve) and injuring many others; Gibbs and company, along with Abby of the CGIS, investigate. The CEO and the chief legal counsel of the oil company assure the SecNav and Gibbs of their utmost cooperation. Tony and McGeek trace one lead, which appears to reach a dead end, but which leaves egg on McGoo's face; Gibbs and the other Abby suspect that the target was not the platform but rather the dead victim. Tony and McGee plus Gibbs and Borin revisit the dead end, where they make a major discovery; Abby puts things together in her shop; Borin questions the corporate lawyer in Gibbs's chat room and brings the investigation to a close. Meanwhile Halloween pranks abound, eventually tripping even Tony.

A Marine sergeant dies of gunfire during an alleged armed robbery; Gibbs and company investigate. Gibbs responds to a call for help for his dad; Tony and McGee take over; Abby provides an important fact.

At night at Quantico a hit-and-run driver kills a woman Navy petty officer; while investigating, Gibbs and company find a suspect, who has a solid but complicated alibi; the gang, a lawyer, and a local cop figure out the whole thing.

A security system detects a bug on the person of the SecNav; Tony contacts the NSA, where he finds a two-year-old paper describing such a breach; one man dies; the author helps the gang to nail the bad guys; Gibbs wants to keep her around.

A clown kills a Marine corporal; while investigating, Gibbs and company find Fornell, Diane, and her boyfriend, who says that he's someone else, and that he knows the clown. All the pieces come together, and the team bust the main bad guy.

Within 30 miles of Washington, DC, eight kids in Navy and Marine Corps families have suddenly become badly ill, requiring treatment in ERs and ICUs; Gibbs and company investigate; Carol, of the Naval Medical-research Center, joins the effort; immediately the number of sick kids grows to 14, then 19, 23, 28, and 34, and none of them responds to treatment. Duckie announces the first fatality, who was a veteran of Vietnam, then he describes the cause of death and the treatability in the kids. Abby says that she has misidentified the particular nature of the illness, so she, Jimmy, and Carol keep working, and they eventually nail it. Abby gives Jimmy a lecture about kindness, optimism, and parenthood. Then the gang identify an international traveler who in many places has recently encountered many kids and the fatality. Meanwhile Vance has three tense chats with his estranged father-in-law and then a nicer one.

A Navy petty officer dies of gunfire in a park in Washington, DC; Gibbs and company investigate; Hollis helps. The gang find an accessory for hire to a terrorist. An explosion kills six and injures 22, including Delilah. [Continued.]

In an effort to find the terrorist Parsa, Gibbs and the NCIS team track down one of his cohorts using evidence from the drone attack. Meanwhile, an emotionally shaken McGee struggles with the ramifications of the incident.
