The hospital now a public hospital tries to adjust to the changes. When one of the surgeons who is scheduled to perform an important surgery decides to quit because of his pay reduction, they try to find another. Bell asks his step son to do it. And Nic who is still recuperating is visited by her friend a former nurse practitioner who was let go because she performed an unauthorized surgery and who has a tense relationship with Conrad. When something happens to Nic her friend offers to help and Conrad is not sure if she should. Meanwhile, the hospital looks for a new CEO.
