After young Riley is uprooted from her Midwest life and moved to San Francisco, her emotions - Joy, Fear, Anger, Disgust and Sadness - conflict on how best to navigate a new city, house, and school.

After becoming the prime suspect in a murder, Fletch strives to prove his innocence while simultaneously searching for his girlfriend's stolen art collection.

The sequel will pick up when Riley is a teenager, likely dealing with all the messy complicated emotions that comes with adolescence. The movie will also introduce some new emotions, beyond the five we saw in the first movie.

The first scene shows Agent Sam Stanley and Agent Chet Desmond late at night after performing the autopsy on the body of List of Twin Peaks characters#Teresa Banks as they discuss how much time had passed since they entered the morgue. Later, they arrive at Hap’s Diner, where Teresa once worked the night shift as a waitress, and question the owner of Hap’s about Teresa. Sheriff Cable of Deer Meadow goes outside with Desmond, and fights him over taking the body of Teresa with him back to Portland, which took the murder investigation out of the hands of the local and corrupt Police Department. Later, Special Agent Dale Cooper is shown in a doorway in the Philadelphia headquarters of the FBI talking to his secretary Diane. Next, Cooper meets Sam Stanley after Desmond went missing.

Flynn Carsen, a perpetual student with 22 academic degrees, is kicked out of college by his professor who tells Flynn that he lacks real life experience. When Flynn lands a job as the Librarian, keeper of top-secret treasures at the Met, he teams up with a gorgeous bodyguard to thwart thieves' plan to steal the artifacts.
