When she passes a test, Vonda comes on to the nerd, prompting him to conclude she has an easy reputation. Urkel helps set her straight, which is good for her ... but definitely not what Eddie was hoping for. Meanwhile, Carl is the butt of Lt. Murtaugh's jokes when he is asked to wear drag for a drug sting.

    When Steve tells Eddie that Greta has been posing nude in his art class, he explodes in anger. He demands that she never poses nude again and she responds by not seeing him anymore. As he begins to miss Greta, Laura sets her idiot brother straight by telling him that her father gave her an ultimatum "Either stop seeing Eddie or Be cut off without a cent". She chose to keep dating him and she struggled ever since. Later on, he apologized to her for his yelling, not realizing why she taking the job as a nude model. Meanwhile, Nick and Carl's feud with each other takes a turn for the worst and it isn't long until Harriette sets them straight again.

    Home Again

    Steve has received six free tickets to see New Edition's Home Again tour because he knows Johnny Gill. He, Eddie and their dates attend with Laura to the concert. To their shock and excitement, New Edition, calls out Stefan onto the stage and she's excited to see him again. Meanwhile, Richie and 3J feel bad about having Carl and Harriette staying with them because they knew that they wanted to go to the concert. Both kids pull some strings with Steve to have New Edition perform at the house.

    Beauty and the Beast

    When Harriette finds contestants for the Miss Downtown Chicago Pageant, which a nervous Carl will be hosting with Emmanuel Lewis. Myrtle decides to cheat her way to win the pageant even if it means making Greta and the others look bad. She wants to win Eddie's love regardless of the consequences and Steve quickly cottons on to her plan. He helps free his girlfriend, Myra and the other contestants by freeing them from their imprisonment, back stage. As the angry contestants chases Myrtle around, he rightfully calls her out for being a manipulative, lying cheat. He tells the audience that Myrtle was using the pageant as a means to reaffirm her love for Eddie and will stop at nothing to get him, even if it's cheating. He reminds her that his friend will never ever love her the same way that he loves Greta. He tells her that it is extremely unacceptable and she knew the rules by hand. She chose to dismiss them and therefore, she loses by default. Myrtle is angry and embarrassed that Steve would dare disqualify her from the competition and leaves.

    Le Jour d'Amour

    Urkel hosts three Valentine's Day stories. In "True Love," Eddie sings a song to clear up Greta's misunderstandings with his high-school ex-girlfriend Oneisha. "First Love" involves Richie and 3J vying for the affections of Kelsey Webster, Maxine's niece,when Richie decides to drop out, Kelsey decides that he's the better man. In "Lasting Love," Harriette accuses Carl of being cheap in buying her the same gifts every year and he enlists Richie and 3J to help him make up for it. Finally, Urkel gets his own Valentine's Day gift in the form of Myra dressed as a polka-costume-clad Cupid.

    Out with the Old

    episode S9.E1 september 1997
    Steve is finally fed up with Myra's refusal to let him change the way he looks. In her eyes, she sees him a perfect 10, the way he is. However, he doesn't see it the same way as her. He feels as long as he dated her, he'll still remain a geek with the hitched up pants and squeaky voice. He makes the executive decision to goes through with the makeover despite her pleading. He even takes speaking lessons from his doctor and the deep voice Sheila. On the night of the kissing contest held by the sorority, Laura wages high for Stefan, but loses the bet to one of her sorority sisters. Greta is the next to bet for Eddie, but she loses to her rival, Myrtle. Finally, Steve shows up in his new look, a green buttoned down shirt, with black slacks reaching to his ankles, new black shoes, no suspenders and oval silver rimmed glasses. He spoke with his new deep voice. While many girls bet for Steve, Laura is impressed by his new look, wins the bet and they share a kiss. Meanwhile, Carl is jealous of Harriette's high promotion that he ends up a second job being a moonlight parker.

    Who's Afraid of the Big Black Book?

    episode S9.E5 october 1997
    Eddie takes his pranks on Laura too far by inviting her ex-boyfriends over to the house whenever Stefan is around. Laura decides to fight fire with fire by conning Steve into helping her get even with her dim-witted brother. She uses his black book, which contains phone numbers of Eddie's previous girlfriends, and invites them over on his birthday. When he and Greta arrive to his birthday party to see his ex-girlfriends, they are incensed by the whole thing. Finally, Steve sets both Eddie and Laura straight on how ungrateful they were to have each other. Steve admits that he was always jealous of them because his parents never loved him and that the Winslows were like his own family. Both siblings apologize soon after. Meanwhile, Commissioner Geiss learns a lesson that sometimes it's better if a more experienced cop, like Carl, is promoted to captain over an inexperienced cop, like his son.

    After breaking up a few fights between Myrtle and Greta, Laura decides that both of them should fight it out in a boxing match for Eddie's love. Meanwhile, Steve and Carl helps 3J locate his birth mother in a diner three blocks off Chicago. She was happy that he's living in a new family who loves him. She explains to him why she gave 3J up for adoption.

    Steve and Laura attend the biggest polka festival in all of Chicago. She is surprised and impressed by how much he has contributed to the community through polka music. She loves him even more and enjoys herself there. Meanwhile, Eddie buys a new apartment for him and Greta to live in. Carl comes over to visit him and overstays his welcome by embarrassing him.
