Meanwhile, Sipowicz looks into the robbery of a wheelchair-bound Vietnam veteran, who later takes his muggers hostage. Elsewhere, Detective Kelly starts moonlighting as a bodyguard for Robin Wirkus, the young girlfriend of Jimmy Wexler, an ailing wealthy friend of Kelly, and Kelly later stumbles into a complex blackmail plot by an extortionist, named Stan, who asks Robin for sexual favors. Also, Laura tells Kelly that she have moved on with her life and is dating someone.
