But Gail asks Dawson what will he do in case his plans of becoming a successful director fall through. Meanwhile, Pacey escorts Joey to Harley's school dance where they have a perfect time despite Harley's date, Patrick, picking a fight with another guy. There, Joey tells Pacey she can't have anything to do with him because Eddie is back from California during a break before he starts college in the fall. Also, Grams tells Jen she has been diagnosed with having breast cancer, and Jen sees her entire world fall apart with the possibility of Grams's death.
